WARHORSE is the story of Albert Narracott, a young boy with a horse. Sounds boring right? Trust me, this show is anything but boring. Based on the 1982 book of the same name, by children’s author Michael Morpugo. The story is relatively simple, We meet Albert and his horse Joey in 1912 in rural England. As the plot unfolds, Albert goes to hell and back trying to protect his beloved horse. Through war, heartbreak and injury, will he ever be reunited with his trusty steed?

 

When WARHORSE opened on Broadway in 2011 it won 6 Tony Awards, including Best Play.  This show is really a technical marvel, as the lead character Joey, is a horse. Obviously you cant take a horse on an extensive Broadway run, and on tour? Forget about it! Instead, Joey and 4 other full sized horses are presented through complicated and lifelike puppetry…
